Demolition of the remaining units at the former RAF Quedgeley site, off Naas Lane, has begun. The demolition is to be phased over a number of years so that existing businesses will continue to operate during this period.
This latest phase will open up the site for development into a high quality business park over approximately 40 acres.

Regional property developer, Robert Hitchins Limited, owns the land and has outline planning permission to develop a range of offices, light industrial and warehouse buildings, which will be sympathetically integrated into the established landscaped environment. The development is to be known as Kingsway Business Park and comprises part of a major mixed-use self-contained urban development which includes 3,300 homes, local community and leisure facilities, retail centre, sports pitches, playing fields and two primary schools.
Initially, construction is focusing on the important new access road, planned to open in June 2008. The road will conveniently link Kingsway Business Park with the A38 junction, the M5 motorway at Junction 12, the nearby Park and Ride at Waterwells, the adjacent retail amenities and the housing and schools at Kingsway.
Jane Tooley, from Robert Hitchins Limited says, “The site is in one of the best business locations in the South West with easy access to the M5 and Gloucester City Centre, excellent connectivity through public transport links, cycle and footpath network and it is adjacent to an established business community and choice of quality housing. Sustainable design will be a major influence in this development and we are keen to work with business occupiers to achieve their aspirations of reducing energy use and providing them with a building design and layout, which meets their requirements.”
