Regional commercial property developer, Robert Hitchins Limited, officially launched the development of Kingsway Business Park at two special events on 1st July 2008. The events took place on the site and were well attended by invited guests representing regional and national organisations and prominent members of the local business community.
The launch events provided guests with a detailed insight into Robert Hitchins’ proposals for the development at Kingsway Business Park, which consists of a 40 acre site occupying part of the former RAF Quedgeley site.
Jane Tooley, of Robert Hitchins Limited, hosted the breakfast and lunch events and made a presentation to around 90 guests at each event, setting out the merits of the site, in particular, its ‘green credentials’.
“Robert Hitchins owns the entire business park. Our launch coincides with the forthcoming completion of the main access route and infrastructure through the business park. Together with the latest phase of demolition, this will allow development to start at the end of this year. Robert Hitchins has a long term commitment to the re-development of this fantastic site. We anticipate that this could be for a period of up to 15 years. “
“We consider that the business park is in one of the best locations in the South West, being within 2 miles of junction 12 of the M5 motorway and with excellent access to local and regional transport networks via various cycle and bus routes.
“During the master planning process, we have been sympathetic to the wonderful existing trees, parkland and open spaces, and wherever possible and practical these features have been retained and will provide an amenity for use by all occupiers of the business park. The business park has outline planning permission for offices, production/light industrial and ancillary warehouse uses. A Local Retail Centre will be developed close to the business park and will incorporate a health centre, food store, shops and a pub/restaurant.
“The first phase of development will consist of a bespoke detached office building for Roberts Limbrick, together with courtyard style offices wrapped around part of the existing retained landscaped area.”
“I have personally been involved in this site for 8 years and have seen enormous changes, particularly in the last 2 years. I consider that this site is a great opportunity for Robert Hitchins to create and establish quality, sustainable buildings in a safe and well managed environment.”
Guests were provided with guided tours of the site in electrically operated buggies and all presented with a gift bag, which included a native British tree to plant.
The launch proved to be a success and positive feedback was received from many guests.
